Abstract :
Microfabricated folded waveguide is considered as a prospective slow-wave structure for traveling-wave tubes at millimeter and sub-millimeter wave range. In this paper, a broadband design was proposed and 3-D electromagnetic field simulations were conducted for folded waveguide of a 220 GHz Traveling-wave tube. A -3 dB bandwidth of ~20 GHz was predicted by both Piece small signal analysis and particle in cell simulation.
