Abstract
Consideration is given to a monopole antenna with a planar finite reflector and especially with a disk reflector made of a perfect conductor. A hybrid analysis method consisting of the moment method and geometrical theory of diffraction (MM/GTD) is used to calculate the effects of antenna reflectors, especially those of the edge of a circular finite reflector, on the input impedance and directivity of the antenna system, and experiments on several examples of such a system are performed. Assuming the direction and number of elements of the monopole antenna to be arbitrary values, the effects of diffractions due to the reflector´s edges are considered on the basis of the GTD.<>
