  • Abstract
    Based on the work mechanism of armature, its material and structure that have great effect on the performance of induction coil launcher is discussed. Then the finite element models of solid armature and winding armature are built. And their electromagnetic field simulation is performed. Both the theoretical analysis and the simulation results have revealed that the eddy current distribution of winding armature excel the solid armature, although the solid armature´s structure is simple. And the maximal axial thrust and radial pressure occur on the tail of two kinds of armature, the reinforcement of mechanical strength is necessary. Thus, the armature in possession of simple structure, even distribution of eddy current and high efficiency must be explored for the improvement of the induction coil launcher´s performance.
