Abstract :
Summary form only given. Deutsche Telekoms telephone network consists of customers service area, a regional level (mainly in ring topology) and an upper transport level (meshed network). Currently, regional and transport networks are SDH-based but in the near future ATM-technology will penetrate more and more of the whole network. Existing and future technologies are discussed.
