Abstract
Signal interference near TV broadcasting stations has become a big problem. Sometimes, the transmitting power of a TV signal could be as much as 30 kW and heavily disturb the normal operation of the electronics. radar, and air-guidance systems near the area. This area is called the sensitive region. An attempt is made to minimize the field intensity within the sensitive region near a TV broadcasting station. while maintaining the direction of the mainbeam. Perturbation, weighting amplitude, and Powell optimization methods are used simultaneously to design the array with such characteristics. Numerical results show that these characteristics can be achieved with the approach described here.<>
