Introducing workbench tools into a development environment

The author considers the issues involved in introducing workbench tools into a development environment. Although this is in itself only one of a number of factors which need to be considered in the selection and implementation process it is an important one in ensuring that the use of workbench tools is a cost-effective approach to developing computer systems. The author considers why the method of introduction is important and illustrates this by describing how Price Waterhouse has introduced a specific tool into its systems consultancy practice
