Abstract :
Cloud computing is another new network concept after grid computing and the trends of next generation of Internet. In the field of education, cloud computing is the basic environment and platform of E-learning in the future, which will produce a wide range of effects for information-oriented education. This paper introduces the concept, characteristics and basic principles of cloud computing, and then highlight Google App Engine (GAE) platform. Finally, the article builds a multimedia courseware sharing platform based on GAE to illustrate the application of the cloud computing platform in the information-oriented education.
