Abstract :
Two bodies of unequal dimensions and diversified physical characteristics respond incongruously to a sea state. Also, it is theoretically as well as experimentally possible to tune the two body system such that the reflected waves from one body would help increase the motion of the other. These phenomena could produce significant relative motion between the two bodies. The relative motion can be converted to electric power or some other form of useful mechanical work. This system can be operated not only on the ocean surface but also at a submerged level. Thus, even under storm conditions, normal operation can be maintained by submerging the system to a certain depth where the wave motions are not so destructive as on the surface but are powerful enough to operate the wave energy converter.
