Abstract :
A mixed spectral domain approach for analyzing periodic structures with thick metallization and dielectric loading is presented. The spectral Green´s functions required in the formulation are derived using the spectral domain immittance approach. With the proper choice of basis functions, this method provides a fast convergent numerical solution to various periodic structures, i.e. a thick strip grating, a groove-corrugated surface, and a thick slotted screen, all with dielectric loading. To illustrate the accuracy and computational efficiency of the method, the transmitted power of a thick strip grating is calculated for incidence angles of 0 and 30 degrees . The reflected power from a corrugated surface due to a plane wave at normal incidence is also calculated along with the transmitted power of a thick slotted screen at normal incidence.<>
