Abstract :
The technique for producing impregnated cathodes with a Re-W ldquospongerdquo matrix (75%-Re/25%-W mass ratio) and 3BaOmiddot0.5CaOmiddotAl2O3 as the emissive active substance has been developed. The emission properties of such cathodes with normal impregnation and of one with excess of emissive active substance have been studied. The cathodes with the normal impregnation have higher emission properties in comparison with the cathodes with the tungsten sponge. The cathodes with a Re-W matrix and excess of impregnant are characterized by anomalous Schottky effect, BaReO4 and BaWO4 needlelike nanostructures formation.
