Abstract
The liability of industrial engineers and the pros and cons of professional registration are discussed. The rewards and risks of moonlighting are examined along with new developments in so-called good Samaritan legislation. The history of professional liability is sketched and general definitions are given for criminal law, civil law, torts and negligence. Other topics covered include standards of practice, registration, industrial exemption, and licensing issues
