Abstract
In this digital age, with the ease of using digital imaging devices to create digital content or digital copies of analogue content, usage of digital watermarking has steadily increased due to the fact that it allows some form of protection and identification to the owner of the content against unauthorized copy or usage of the content. Visible watermarking is often the choice of content owners when the work they want to protect is in the form of digital images. This paper describes an approach for adaptive visible watermarking based on the analysis of the threshold value of the image using Otsu´s threshold to select the best embedding strength of the watermark at a particular position. The approach also has the unique characteristic of allowing the watermark to be extracted from a watermarked image.
