Abstract :
Interest in the application of artificial intelligence techniques to NDT problems has grown rapidly. In particular, the expert system (ES) offers considerable potential for addressing areas of NDT activity which have been manpower intensive. These include the selection of the appropriate testing method for the problem in hand, the production of procedures for its application, and the interpretation and analysis of test results against relevant acceptance standards
