Abstract :
Discusses the use of electronic RF data tagging in the electrical and electronic industries to improve flexibility, efficiency, production and quality control. Automatic product identification is used in the assembly and test of everything from printed circuit boards, television receivers, power tools and many other types of domestic appliances. The ability of data tagging systems to capture accurate information on work-in-progress reliably has made a significant contribution to the performance of manufacturing systems. The principles of operation of a Transponder system are discussed, and the application of such a system to the manufacture of battery charger units is described
