Abstract :
Ad hoc network is a collection of wireless terminals that can be deployed rapidly in the absence of a fixed infrastructure. Positioning is a science in itself and is often associated with the general topic area of navigation. The aim of this paper is to discuss the development of an automatic, low-cost system that enables tracking the location of terminals and providing high-precision positioning in ad hoc environments. The approach provides position information of the nodes based on self-organizing maps (SOM) by using airship node where an infrastructure does not exist and GPS cannot be used. In addition, we design a filtering system to remove the inappropriate positions of nodes to enhance position accuracy. Simulation results demonstrate that our approach is effective.
