Abstract :
The Applied Physics Laboratory, University of Washington, has developed a split-beam, mobile acoustic measurement system that is suited to a variety of tasks such as the study of fish populations, bottom features, and reverberation. Like an earlier configuration, 1 the present system allows phase-coherent analog recording of multiple acoustic channels. New features include improved attitude and environmental sensing, programming of electronic functions, and greater freedom in choosing the type and frequency or the transmitted signal.
