Abstract :
The paper brings forward primary principle and design method for mechanical products based Group Technology. The method is practiced in modular machine tool rapid design. It applies GT to 3D design of products. Parts and components of products are sorted and formed design families according as criterion of draw out design comparability. Example models are build for different design families. These example models can collect all function factors of the design families. The models can be deal with enterprise criterion. Example stocks of 3D models with GT codes are build. New design can create after the stocks are searched and edit by designer. The way can enhance efficiency and quality.
