Abstract :
Mirrorless backward parametric oscillation (BWO) is a very perspective method to develop coherent light sources with novel characteristics. BWO has still not been realized in nonlinear bulk crystals, but waveguide structures can be proposed. Phase matched BWO solutions in planar CdGeP2-AgGaS2 and CdGeP2-(TlCI-TlBr) waveguides are presented and discussed. To judge by the obtained results, the possibility of BWO in planar nonlinear waveguides is worth bearing in mind.
