Abstract
Using new low-jitter acoustic transponding circuitry and glass instrument housing techniques, a new deep-sea "Pegasus", acoustically-tracked absolute velocity profiler, has been designed for full ocean depth current vs. depth measurements. This instrument will be described along with a discussion of data reduction methods using a microprocessor-to operator interface enabling rapid pictorial data presentation. Illustrative results will be given.
