Abstract :
This paper describes the life-cycle impact assessment methodology in an environmental life-cycle design tool developed by the University of Tennessee Center for Clean Products and Clean Technologies to help implement product stewardship. The tool is being used in the US Environmental Protection Agency´s (EPA) Design for the Environment Computer Display Project to determine life-cycle environmental impacts, including potential chemical toxicity impacts, of cathode ray tube and liquid crystal display computer monitors and to identify potential areas for product improvement
