APV Chemical Machinery and ICI Pharmaceutical Division have jointly developed a laboratory fermenter package and its associated control system. The product, which will be marketed by APV Chemical Machinery, consists of a personal computer linked by a high speed serial bus to two local controllers. Each controller manages a fermenter.
