In addition to the basic requirements for the INTELSAT VII a number of optional features and services had been identified by INTELSAT and were included in the request for proposals (RFP). These are described and include command security, spacecraft storage and retest, attitude determination and control subsystem simulator, linearisers, reduced telemetry monitoring, ion thrusters, and error corrections for inclined orbit
