Abstract :
Discusses how satellite communications networks involve major capital investments. This fact, together with the need for a complete global coverage in order to provide full international telecommunications facilities has led to the formation of a number of major international satellite consortia. The largest of these is Intelsat, which currently has 116 member countries from around the world. Intelsat satellites provide fixed satellite services, such as voice, data and television, both on a point-to-point and point-to-multipoint distribution basis, between telecommunications operators and users all around the world
