Abstract :
The computer-aided design approach to ultrasound transducers has proved to be extremely useful. It has improved one´s understanding of the behaviour of these devices as various design parameters are varied and it enables one to experiment with a wide range of approaches to a particular design problem without having to resort to manufacturing devices at each stage of the iteration. Very accurate matching between model and device is required for this purpose and the computer model described has achieved this
