Abstract
The underwater imaging systems developed at Portsmouth use linear arrays of PZT transducers for transmit and receive. The authors describe the design and construction of a pair of parallel arrays of 32 transducers for operation at about 2 MHz. The technique used to enable the satisfactory fabrication of a small scale array, within a development laboratory, are included. Preliminary results of the use of the array for near field imaging are given
