Abstract :
An ultrasonic array structure has been developed for use as part of a condition monitoring system. The structure consists of a monolithic plate of a piezoelectric material bonded to a standard printed circuit board whose copper tracks define the array element pattern. This configuration places few restrictions on the piezoelectric material and its dimensions and on element geometry, and requires minimal manufacturing equipment and time
