Abstract :
The application of adaptive filtering theory in cross-polarization interference cancelers (XPIC) for digital radio systems is investigated. The authors consider an 8-PAM system with 144 Mbits/sec and a two-ray model for the cross-polarization interference. Based on the principles of the Wiener filter, a theoretical analysis of the canceler´s structure is provided, presenting XPIC as a particular case of systems identification. Simulation results show the dynamic behavior of the adaptive XPIC for different levels of cross interference
