Abstract :
Summary form only given. A simple yet accurate method for the analysis of the a helix antenna has been developed. The helix is first partitioned into segments. Attention is focused on a wire segment on a planar surface. A local coordinate system is chosen such that the arc is placed on the x-y plane, and the center of the arc on the origin. In the local coordinate system, a single equation is sufficient. It is derived by ensuring that the phi -component of the electric field is zero on the surface of the arc. The coupling term is reduced to a much simpler term. This simplification is perhaps the most vital gain in the present reformulation because the difficulty in enumerating the derivative of a singular integral can by bypassed by the weighted sampling processes of the method of moments.<>
