Abstract :
As part of the on-going effort to bring Ocean Thermal Energy Conversion (OTEC) to commercial reality, an at sea test and demonstration of a 10-foot diameter, 1000-foot long fiberglass cold water pipe (CWP) is now under design. The pipe is to be a 1/3 scale model of the pipe that would be required for a 40 megawatt (MW) OTEC plant. Deployment and at-sea testing is planned for calendar year 1982.
