  • Abstract
    This paper discusses the development and implementation of a system of remote sensing applied to surfboards to be used, especially, in athlete coaching. The developed system uses ZigBee technology to transmit data and uses the experimental analysis of mechanical stress of the materials for the acquisition of the variables to be analyzed. It is basically composed by two modules, called Remote Central and local central. The remote central is responsible for the conversion of the mechanical variables in electrical variables, for the conditioning and acquisition of signals from transducers placed on the surfboard and also for the storage data in a memory. It was used a microcontroller from the PIC family, model PIC18F4620 and two XBee modules to transfer data and to communicate via ZigBee protocol with the Local Central which will accomplish the final treatment of data.
