Abstract :
A system for measuring significant wave height, period, and direction has been constructed and is presently undergoing field tests in Presque Isle Bay of Lake Erie. A Z-80A microprocessor system and associated software control data acquisition from a triad of wire wavestaffs affixed to a unique composite-based offshore structure. Real-time analysis and display of computed values comprises a significant improvement over existing methods.
