Abstract :
A few examples are given of technical areas in ISDN development which are of concern to satellite communications. These problems require action by the satellite community to ensure retention of the medium independency principle in ISDN for satisfactory and balanced network design and operation. The authors also identify candidates for new satellite network scenarios in ISDN, utilizing the particular advantages of satellite based networking to benefit ISDN services to be supported
