The author reviews novel facilities incorporated into the `standard´ oscilloscopes. These include: autoset functions for selecting the appropriate timebase speed, input attenuation, triggering and coupling; cursor measurement facility; noise reduction and/or elimination features; availability of main./max. mode and envelope mode; waveform parameters measurements by means of automatic time and amplitude measurements; and remote control facilities
