Abstract :
We report for the first time data transmission at 11 Gb/sec through 100 m of low loss (33 dB/km) perfluorinated graded index plastic optical fiber using inexpensive, uncooled, unisolated, Fabry Perot lasers at 1.3 /spl mu/m and a simple InGaAs pin photodetector.
