ATE (automatic test equipment) is considered as a collection of one or more test/measurement instruments that can be operated in a pre-programmed or automatic manner. The use of ATE in electronics product manufacture is discussed considering various degrees of complexity. Particular attention is paid to the Benchtop combinational tester.
