Abstract :
A new design of pH/blood gas analyzer used in medical laboratory is proposed. The device is completely automatized and allows the measurement of the pH value, the partial pressures of the dissolved gases (PCO2, PO2) and the concentration of the hemoglobin (Hb) from the blood. It computes another six medical sanguine parameters based on measured parameters: bicarbonate, oxygen saturation, oxygen content, base-excess, total carbon dioxide, pH standard, which allow the establishment of the acid-base balance of the blood. The unit is interconnected with the personal computer via the parallel port
