Abstract :
A single point slack mooring with elastic accumulator has been evaluated using a finite element dynamic computer program. Various current and wave regimens were run to determine steady-state and dynamic loads. The use of a new design of elastic accumulator with a loose nylon overbraid is evaluated. This design provides a high breaking strength after the designed elastic limit of the accumulator is reached.
