Abstract
Inlet-induced beach erosion was successfully controlled by a weir at Boca Raton Inlet in Palm Beach County, Florida. ´The erosion was due to an interruption of the littoral trans port system by a jetty extension built in 1975. After the weir was constructed in the north jetty to increase the amount of sand available for dredge transfer, an extensive study was conducted to determine its impact on Boca Raton´s Inlet and adjacent beaches.
