  • Abstract
Multiple input multiple output-orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (MIMO-OFDM) is regarded as a promising technology enabling higher data rate wireless communications in multi-path fading channels. To achieve higher data rate, MIMO-OFDM use increasing the number of antenna from 2 up to 4, higher modulation schemes, or both of these technologies. In addition, there are several decoding schemes for MIMO-OFDM system. The performance and complexity of the MIMO-OFDM receiver depend on modulation type, the number of antenna and decoding schemes. This paper analyzes the complexity and performance tradeoff between two above technologies for increasing data rate in MIMO-OFDM system with varios decoding schemes such as MMSE, list square decoding (LSD), and iterative decoding with LSD. Convolutional code (R=1/2, K=7) is used as outer channel code
