Abstract :
Growth of Microcystis aeruginosa at different initial pH values was studied under acidic or basic culture condition, and to probe the growth speed, the pH values, nitrogen, phosphorus and UV 254 in the residual medium. The results indicate that algae come into being etiolation and perish rapidly when the pH of medium was under 4.7 or above 12.0. The residual medium maintain alkalescence under basic culture relative to acidic condition. It is propitious to kill Microcystis aeruginosa and the pH value of water quality come back. After algae was killed and decayed whether acidic or basic culture condition, it was changed slightly of the total nitrogen or phosphorus about the residual medium and the concentration of organic matter would not rise. Thus, there is foreground about the technology of algae removal or prevention and their applying by adjusting the pH of water quality in practicality.
