A Framework of Marine Geography Information System for Ship

This paper gives a framework for Marine Geography Information System for ship (SMGIS), and presents the seven components and the key technologies of it. For illustration, the Marine Environment Information System (MEIS) is designed. The success of MEIS demonstrates the advantages of this framework, such as clear structure, definite organization, easy to build, etc. It not only solves the problem that the traditional structure of MGIS does not directly apply to ship, but also is a significant contribution to ship applications in marine areas for our country.
