Abstract
This paper describes the development and the functioning of a pen that uses haptic and optical technology. Tactile feedback is used to provide user-computer interface. The pen has three main parts: the force sensor, the photodiode, and the solenoid. It is capable of responding to external stimuli, processing the data, and interacting with the user. Preliminary results are presented and several tests are proposed in order to collect data for future studies.
