Abstract
An improved polarization detection and discrimination method is developed in connection with improving the resolution of various formations on the Earth´s surface in remote sensing. The possibility of improving the selection of a useful signal out of its mixture with an interference signal and the noise of the receiver is also addressed. These problems are considered in the framework of solving the basic problem of determining the dependence of radar contrast on the type of radiated wave polarization. It is shown that a fluctuating object can be described by means of its invariants, the full effective reflection, and the anisotropy degree as well as by the second special polarization basis coordinates.<>
