Abstract
Traditional and innovative power conditioning system configurations for 40 MW, 100 MW and 400 MW OTEC plants are parametrically reviewed for their inherent characteristics of cost, space, weight, fault current, power loss, reliability, serviceability, complexity and flexibility. These results demonstrate the utility of each power conditioning equipment and system configuration for various OTEC plant sizes and types. Recommendations identify areas for further energy transfer system development.
