Abstract :
In this paper, the implementation of BinDCT, fast multiplier less approximation of the DCT, on MPEG-7 color layout descriptor is described and the performances of BinDCT, JPEG FDCT and MPEG-7 DCT are discussed is well. The new member of the MPEG family called MPEG-7, the multimedia content description interface, is imposed to deal with various audio visual informations available from many sources around the world. The purpose of MPEG-7 is to extract the multimedia description that can be used in various applications. One of the MPEG-descriptors, color layout descriptor, is explained in this paper.
