Abstract :
Describes a prototype high definition digital video effects unit conforming to the SMPTE 240M standard for 1125/60 high definition production systems. The unit provides high quality linear picture manipulation in 3-D. It is primarily intended to be integrated with other electronic production equipment to replace optical effects in film production and to provide transparent and realistic effects for wide-screen applications. However the flexibility of the unit also lends itself to more dramatic conventional effects
