            Abstract :
This paper presents an introductory discussion of the general characteristics and advantages of the silver-zinc, manually activated, rechargeable battery. Cycle-life limitations are discussed and the test results of a cycle-life improvement study, which investigated potential improvements in electrolyte formulation, zinc plate composition and the separation system, completed in 1995, are provided. The results of this study indicate a significant improvement in cycle-life over the baseline design for certain variations in the separator system
