Novel RC-oscillators using single operational amplifier

Abstract :
A new single opamp oscillator circuit with two feedback RC-circuits is proposed and analyzed. Theoretical study shows that, for time constants of small w.r.t. (1/w1) of the opamp, rectangular oscillations are produced, where w1 =gain-bandwidth product. On the other hand, time constants on the order of larger than (1/w1) give sinusoidal oscillations. The oscillator circuits were designed, built, and tested. Experimental results are found to be in close agreement with theoretical expectations
