Abstract :
At the OCEANS´80 conference in Seattle Kroebel presented a paper dealing with high speed temperature sensor and associated electronic circuitry for measuring sea water temperatures with time constants of about 0,5 m sec and a resolution of less than 1 mK over a range of about 30 K. Recent results from laboratory tests and field trials will be given. Besides this Kroebel has continued to find out optimum designs of thermometer devices with very short time constants and high resolution which will be reported on. Further more a realization of an array of thermometers with short time constants for measurement of water currents in very small volumes and for measurements of turbulence columes is introduced.
