  • Abstract
    The necessity of introducing ATP (available to promise) is discussed and the principles of APS-based demand fulfillment solutions are proposed in this paper. Our approach is based on a normative mixed integer planning method. We conclude that the optimized solution of the traditional methods on which most planning processes are based is very difficult to characterize in an advanced planning system. With a heuristic intelligent optimization algorithm and a case study where this model is used, this paper presents the advantages of the APS (advanced planning system), and discusses how the demand fulfillment system can be set up to promote the information flow in supply chain.
